Made of precisely controlled diamond crystals that produce a uniform matrix which is embedded in a strong, durable binder. Dumont diamonds are extremely long lasting and can be re-shaped as often as desired against a wet dressing stone. Sintered diamonds last 5 to 10 times longer than plated diamonds and up to 100 times longer than silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasives. Type A Points are used for precious stones and metal finishing work (especially gold) when contamination of the surface prior to application of porcelain is a potential problem. Not recommended for ceramics and glass.
